General Information: | |
The JBL COL800 is an elegant 32-inch (800 mm) slim column loudspeaker that provides wide horizontal and narrow vertical coverage, with a built-in 10° down-tilt to the aim, providing optimum coverage of most listening areas while allowing the speaker to be installed flat to the wall. The slim, compact design-winner of international design awards for industrial design excellence-complements virtually any architectural décor. A combination of stylish design and outstanding performance features makes the COL800 ideal for a wide variety of applications, such as conference/meeting rooms, lecture halls, retail stores, concourses, transit spaces, fill applications, audio for video, and other applications where slim, compact design and high performance is desired. Four 5-inch x 2.25-inch racetrack woofers provide maximum radiating area in a column form factor. Dual tweeters are located at top of the array for less obstructed coverage of the listening space, and they are aimed at a 10° down angle, allowing down-tilted coverage aim, even with the cabinet flat to the wall. The shallow cabinet depth of 3.7 inches (93 mm) qualifies for ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) projects when installed with the back of the cabinet flush to the wall. A 60-watt multi-tap transformer allows for use on either 70V or 100V distributed speaker lines, while the speaker is switchable for direct 8-ohm operation with power handling of 150W continuous (600W peak, 2 hrs). The 85 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range delivers clean, clear sound for music or speech. Versatile installation is accommodated by two included L-brackets, which can be installed on either the top and bottom panels (for horizontal pan aiming) or on the left and right side panels. Both locations allow for close-to-the-wall installation. In addition, a low-profile swivel (pan) / tilt wall bracket is also included, for adding up to 10° down-tilt to the cabinet aiming (in addition to the built-in 10° down-tilt aim when the speaker is installed flat to the wall). The COL800 has an IP54 rating (per IEC60529) for protection against ingress of dust or water. The drivers are water-treated, the grille has a water-backing, and a cover is included to protect the input terminals. Available in black (JBL-COL800-BK) or white (JBL-COL800-WH). Features

Picking the Right Display for Your Home Theater System
When you envision a theater-like video experience, you probably think first of a projection system and a large screen TV. That's certainly the display of choice in the prototypical home theater.
As for the projection screen, you can choose between fixed-frame, pull-up/-down, or motorized screens, and most screen manufacturers offer a wide variety of screen materials to suit different projectors and environments. You also need to think about what screen shape you want: Do you want a standard 16:9 screen that's perfect for HDTV and many movies or a 2.35:1 screen that lets you watch CinemaScope movies with no black bars (this requires a suitably equipped projector and sometimes an add-on lens).
Of course, the two-piece projection system isn't the only option in the display realm. Flat-panel TVs are pretty much the driving force in the home entertainment marketplace. Smart TV, LED, OLED. 4K. HDR. The world of TVs is looking better every day, but also more confusing. Today, there's a wide array of high-definition (HD) and 4K Ultra HD sets to choose from, from bargain big screens to high-end displays that can cost as much as a car.
Home Theater Speaker Systems (5.1, 7.1 and more) The other main element that makes a trip to the movie theater so memorable is the enveloping audio, in which sound elements come at you from all directions. At home, the most basic surround sound speaker system consists of 5.1 channels. The "5" stands for speakers in the front left, center, front right, rear right, and rear left positions, while the ".1" belongs to a subwoofer that helps flesh out the bass for explosions and other low-end effects. Some home theater installers recommend the use of multiple subwoofers to help deliver smoother bass response across a wider listening area. Most higher end surround systems use dedicated Pre-Amps, amplifiers and or receivers. These can be connected to In-ceiling speakers, In-wall speakers, Floor Standing speakers and of course Subwoofers.
CompSource also makes it easy with Home Theater Systems in a box. While these may not be as robust as a dedicated system they still sound great for many home users with limited budgets or not interested in as elaborate of a theater system.
If a home theater system is just a bit much, you can always consider a Sound Bar. Sound Bars include a speaker that has a left, center and right speaker as well as a sub woofer. Often times they have wireless speaker options as well and typically can be installed with little effort from the home owner.

I was wanting a new 17.3" screen with light up keyboard for my work. I bought an ACER which unfortunately in long run we found out the 4th generation processor couldn't handle the Windows Pro 10 version which is what I needed for my line of work. I had spent 10 hours with IT helpdesks at ACER, my company, and Windows to try to get my encrypted computer to accept the upgrade to PRO. Unfortunately, it didn't work. I had to get a 6th generation processor instead. The guys at CompSource were so helpful in finding one for me and expediting the exchange I was up and running in no time. Believe me, after sending thousands of dollars in computers across the country to get the old one wiped and returned and getting a new one to replace and nothing I repeat nothing went awry. I'm up and running again with PRO! I would only buy from CompSource. No hassle and very knowledgable!!! Laura Travelling CircusMore Reviews
